Subject: Free Lunch!

Jim,

Thanks for the free lunch yesterday. I know everyone enjoyed the pizza. I think that you can never go wrong with free food, however, I have a few suggestions on how to turn this  into something that provides enhanced value to Clique. Specifically, I think that free lunches can be used by Clique as a tool to foster the following ends:

My first major suggestion would be to find a way to have people congregate together, using the lunch as an excuse.  Simply providing the food in the conference room could help with this. Alternately, if the weather is nice, providing the food outside on the tables by the old food court could provide a nice setting. Having employees bring their food back to their desks is less than ideal in my opinion.

The second thing I would recommend would be to periodically have the lunches be "Tech Talks" either by internal employees or perhaps by bringing in industry luminaries. Employee tech talks could be sharing the details of what they're working on, tools they use and like, side projects, even outside interests.  Someone could even show pictures from their vacation! Some potential topics for tech talks:

We could even setup a page on the intranet where people could volunteer on topics, or suggest topics they'd like to hear about.  Tech Talks could be every Wednesday, or just once a month...
